Most artist are understand that they need to build their brand but are going about it the wrong way. Here are four keys that every artist must understand to build a strong brand.
- Self-awareness is key to any brand. Most artists are used to being meticulous about their creations, however many ignore their own image.
- Environmental-awareness is key to creating a standing out. “Unique” is subjective and without understanding how others are carrying themselves in your particular community, you will have a hard time understanding what unique value you add.
- Audience communication is critical to getting your message heard how you mean it to be received. Some things will resonate with some people more than others. Sometimes saying something seemingly harmless (especially in the name of being different) can rub people the wrong way. Building a brand is an art.
- Consitency is by far the most important part of building a brand.Without consistency, your brand does not exist. Your brand is people’s perception of your based on information collected over time. Not the first encounter or event the second. Making a strong first few perceptions can help but nothing replaces the pure genius of not stopping.
